~WEATHER~
Learn to watch weather and look for approaching storm fronts. Be aware of whats going on all the time around you,so that in case something is fixin to change you have plenty of time to make adjustments. In the mountains late evening showers are common. Look at weather patterns throughout the year and make logs and notes on this pattern.Yes it will change from year to year, but at least you will have some idea as to when to expect rain, snow and etc. Then according to that then you will learn when best times will be for hunting game and hunting wild foods such as berries and the like.

~Wildlife~
You know most people are afraid after the sun sets that something is comming out to get them.Well I have been to the mountains and woods most of my life and I have never had any bad incidents, except a few raccoons in camp.

They are just as scared of you as you are of them. Now if you get between a mother Black bear and her cubs, then the dynamics of this whole game change.

You have to be totally aware of what time of year it is,when your there and make notes as to the time, place, what and where.

Then you can go and come as you please and you will feel a total sense of peace. Coyotes howl at night which might seem eerie, but you know they are just communicating amoung themselves. They couldn't care less about bothering you.

SNARING FOR SUPPER

Snares are a very effective way to catch your supper.Placed in trails is a very effective way to capture you a deer for a meal.

Use parachute chord in about a four ft loop and lay it on the face of brush going down the trail.Deer will walk through becoming caught. This method is only for survival purposes and I do not condone breaking the laws. You do however have the right to feed yourself. If you ever have to use this method always check snares regularly.Carry a sidearm to put animals down.
