~After The Catch Has Been Made~

After you made a catch, dispatch the coyote and lay it to the side,re~make set the same with your backing and all.Redo the set just like it was at first,re~bed the same trap,no need to put in a new trap, this trap already smells like the area.

Now re~lure and rescent same as before.Use the droppings left by your catch to.I have caught up to 20 coyotes out of the same traps. If you catch a skunk, reset just like you did the coyote!"You will be suprised how many coyotes you can take out of one trap".

~Big Pan Kill Area~
Now it stands to reason if you had a four foot PAN area for the Coyote to step on,he naturally would get caught without working the set much,Yea crazy huh? Well we can't have a four Foot pan but we can have a 3 or 3.5 inch pan, meaning one thing, the bigger the pan and KILL AREA rthe better chance we have catching the Coyote.Think outside the box on this fellows,If your pan is Small, say 1 inch wide, how well will you have to place the trap??? See my point???

Now This 1/4 inch Quick link gives you a way to stake your trap and change out traps if you need or have to.Its quick and simple without driving a new cable stake.Be CERTAIN to get you the wrench to fit that NUT on the Cable stake,or a Coyote will loosen it up if not Tightened!!! I warned YOU!!!

Back in the 70's an ADC Coyote Study was Done by Major Boddicker which is an Extenssion Biologist that lives In Colorado. There are 15 Extension Biologist or was at that time in the USA.The study simply show that out of 3,000 coyotes 95 % were Right Footed, reason for the Offset right or left,I choose Right side because of the study!!

Long Chain ~vs~ Short Chain
First Off this Argument has been in every Trapping Forum that ever existed, and quite frankly someone decided at one time that Short Chain was the Answer to all the Prayers on Loosing a Coyote in a trap.Well Trappers,I must confess,Texas Wolfers for centuries that are worth their salt on trapping Any Coyotes, will show you their Traps and there are NO traps that aren't Long Chain.

Now,just a small amount of serious thinking would tell you, anything that YOU PIN down,is going to not only FIGHT you Harder, but It will do more damage to itself in the process!! Now if you take that same animal and give him some working room,he will wear his self out VERY Quick on long Chain and spend all or most of his time resting.

How people get to thinking Short is better,is totally beyond me.I have caught Coyotes on 20 Foot of Chain and NO FOOT damage, and Coyotes on 14 foot of chain and NO damage.I have caught coyotes on 18 inches of chain that had BADLY ,mangled foot damage and then totally gone, only to catch them back.Use your head, think this thru and visualize that Coyote in a trap,He will go to the end of the Chain, and then proceed in a circle ,until he has a huge 360 degree Circle of dirt piled toward the center,THEY ONLY cross trhe trap bed at a 180 when you aproach the coyote,so Ease up,Dont come Driving up and hop out of the truck,Excited coyotes fight very hard!! So ends results use at least a 5 Foot Swiveled Chain(3 Swivels)!!

Ranchers & Your Coyote Traps

You gotta totally understand first & foremost,Ranchers are "first" in business to raise & take care of their Livestock to the best of their ability,& they do not Tolerate someone wanting to come onto their place with "inferior Traps"!!

There are so many Trappers now that are using "Incorrect Traps" for trying to catch & Hold an Animal "Known" to be rough on traps,& to try and trap them sucessfully with Poor Traps makes the Rancher or Farmers chances of having you loose "Coyotes" & taking the "high" Risk of not being able to catch that Coyote back!

Please spend the Money & buy the best Coyote Traps made & quit trying to use "inferior" sizes to catch & hold this animal! 1.5 Size & 1~3/4 Traps ARE NOT COYOTE Traps!
